After a successful career in graphic design, Deborah now turns her
accomplished artistic vision towards interpreting her surroundings.
From her home atop Saddleback Mountain overlooking Jamberoo, Deborah
creates vibrantly whimsical art in a variety of mediums. Inspiration is drawn from
the abundant natural attractions surrounding her – rainforest, mountains, rolling
hills, sand and surf, sunshine and shadow, and the almost limitless flora and
fauna.

For Deborah, nature is as vast as the horizon yet as minute as the intricate detail
crafted into every work. Commonplace scenes turn playful, the piquancy of
meadows splashed with summer rain, contrasted by a casual assemblage of
cows at rest or the feathered plumage of exotic birds.
Colours pop and fizz, while patterns cleverly emerge, layer upon layer,
suggesting the grandeur of everyday existence built upon the microscopic
framework of life itself.

Inspiration for Deborah’s paintings strikes in many places, from the balcony of
her own home to driving through the district. “Suddenly, I’ll visualise a painting,
its colours and patterns. The South Coast is truly a haven for creativity; the green
hills, the bird life, the vastness of the ocean, all hold a powerful artistic potency 
that I love to interpret on canvas.”
