The ocean is a fascinating, powerful, terrifyingly beautiful thing.
I grew up inland, so I was always a bit fearful of the ocean. It took time to realise that was simply a lack of understanding on my part.
Now, living in Gerringong, I spend as much time as I can in and around the ocean – as my understanding grows, my fear has transformed into respect and wonder.
The mesmerising perpetual motion of the waves is something I could sit and watch endlessly – the sound and the movement so soothing.
It is a challenge to try and break this complex phenomenon down into a single image frame which can tell a compelling story. Yet it is incredibly satisfying to create an image which is so unique – that moment in time will never be the same again, as the water is constantly moving, constantly changing with its perpetual motion.
Come along and explore these moments as I saw them because they’ll never happen again.
